The Technology PhD Program at Purdue University allows a minimum of 30 credit hours to be taken in a custom specialization, along with 27 credit hours from any Purdue college or school other than Purdue Polytechnic. Rensselaer has a New York State Center of Excellence in Digital Game Development designation. The University offers the Master of Entertainment Arts and Engineering program for graduate students. University of Utah offers the Bachelor of Science in Games program for undergraduates.
Saint Edward's University
Graduates of the programs at Cal Poly enjoy a 93% employment rate within nine months of graduation. Viterbi School of Engineering offerings include a BS in Computer Science (Games), an MS in Computer Science (Game Development), and a PhD in Computer Science with a Game Design and Development or Virtual Reality research area. A Minor in Computer Science and a Progressive Degree Program (PDP) are also available. Graduates of the School of ECS CS Programs at Baylor University Baylor work at some of the world’s largest companies and research institutes. UPenn DMD graduates are routinely hired at DreamWorks Animation, Disney Animation, Electronic Arts (EA), Microsoft, Pixar, and Google.
Laguna College of Art & Design
Course examples for the Games Graphics and Animation area include Advanced 3D Modeling; Compositing and Special Effects; Concept Design for Games, Film, and TV; and Advanced Three-Dimensional Computer Animation. For exceptional students, DigiPen offers an accelerated BS/MS program that can be completed in just five years. This program allows students to customize a specialization from courses across any area at DigiPen.
The degree and minor programs in the CENG provide hands-on learning in a studio-like, collaborative environment that focuses on design- and project-centered coursework. The Game Design MFA at Laguna College of Art and Design is a two-year, terminal degree program that requires 60 credit hours to graduate.
